After the deaths of the Avengers at the hands of Thanos, Ant-Man, along with five others, got a message from Iron Man saying they are now the Avengers.
Ant-Man was with Spider-Man at the time of the message. They fought their way to Stark Tower until they met up with the other heroes. After several failed attempts at defeating Thanos, War Machine was elected team leader. THey worked as a team and defeated him, but the Avengers were still dead.
After the funeral, the New Avengers stayed a team. Ant-Man and Spider-Man formed a close friendship. They built a headquarters in space that would orbit the Earth and they would not accept new members.
