Azari was raised in Wakanda until he was thirteen. He moved to America with his mother when she rejoined the X-Men. His father later joined them. Azari joined the Young Avengers instead of the X-Men. After his mother was inducted into the Exiles he refused to return to Wakanda. He wanted to honor his mother by continuing his hero work. When she returned he reconciled with her.
