History
Early Life
When Natalia was a child her parents were killed and she was kidnapped by HYDRA. She was a professional assassin-spy by the age of eight. When she was seventeen, however, she began having second thoughts about her life.
S.H.I.E.L.D.
HYDRA wouldn't let her leave. She was too valuable of an asset. However, when Nick Fury led a squad, which included Hawkeye and Mockingbird, Widow betrayed HYDRA and fought for S.H.I.E.L.D.
Fury's Right Hand
After that Widow and Fury became as close as two people can get without anything romantic. He even promoted her to second-in-command of all S.H.I.E.L.D. personal. During her time, she formed a friendly rivalry with Hawkeye.
Avengers
When the alien Thanos attacked the Earth, S.H.I.E.L.D. sent down a squad, led by Widow. Her squad was taken out, but she remained. When more heroes arrived to help, she joined them in the firefight. She eventually remained with them as the Avengers. She would eventually fall in love with Captain America.
