Cap's history followed that of his mainstream counterpart. After the Secret Invasion, Cap led a squad of Avengers going around America ousting Skrulls. They took out three of the Fantastic Four, but they were yet to find Human Torch. After Storm was inducted into the Exiles, he stepped down as team leader, allowing Iron Man to once again lead the Avengers.
