The Flight[]
Reed Richards and his college roommate, Hal Jordan, were planning to take a space shuttle up to study cosmic rays. Reed's fiance, Susan, insisted on her and her brother, Johnny, coming along. Reed accepted and the four of them lifted off.
Cosmic Rays[]
When studying the cosmic rays, there was a disruption that caused them to rift. They hurried to return to Earth, but they were bombarded with the rays. They crash-landed in an island where they all transformed.
