Barry Allen is a mutant teenage prodigy in science.
Becoming a Mutant[]
While still in High School, Barry Allen was a track star. Eventually his powers erupted and he was accused of taking steroids. He was expelled after his biggest competitor, Ananth Patil, placed drugs in his locker. He learned he had super-speed and became the Flash.
X-Men[]
Professor Xavier approached Barry Allen and offered him a spot on a team of mutants called the X-Men. He accepted and became fast friends with Nightcrawler, who had the same kind of childish humor.
