Peter was forcibly bonded to the Carnage symbiote and he murdered several other heroes. Mary Jane became Spider-Woman to stop him, but she couldn't.
A rift in reality allowed three different evil versions of Spider-Men to meet, including Spider-Carnage. They formed an alliance and began wreaking havoc all over reality. This caused Madame Web to form the Spider-Men to come together and stop them. Spider-Carnage killed the other two and absorbed their life forces, becoming even more of a threat.
