After the deaths of the Avengers at the hands of Thanos, Spider-Man, along with five others, got a message from Iron Man saying they are now the Avengers.
Spider-Man was with Ant-Man when they got the message. The two of them made their way to Stark Tower, fighting off Thanos's army. They elected War Machine as a leader and they fought Thanos. They lost several times until finally starting to work as a team and they defeated him, but the Avengers were still dead.
After the Avengers funeral, the six of them agreed to stay a team. Spider-Man formed a close friendship with Ant-Man. The New Avengers refused to get new members, unlike the original Avengers. They built a headquarters in space that would orbit Earth.
